Greetings Humans,

Eventually everyone reaches a point in their life when they want to retire. Now that I am 21 years old, about 100 if I were human, I feel it is necessary to devote my time to more important things—like napping. Fortunately, Ken and Richelle have adopted another cat, Cait Sith, who seems to have the right temperament for the job. Tonraq, their other cat, is just too timid to get out and meet people. His reports would have mostly been about hiding under the house or the bed. Cait Sith, on the other paw, is always eager to make friends whether it be with cats, humans or even dogs (she is braver than me!) So, I sent her out to take a look at the new premises while construction is going on. I include her reports below.

“I’m so excited to be able to tell you what happened yesterday. First, there was the car ride in the cage. I hated that since I rock and slide around so much on the turns and stops. Then there was the vet, who was nice even though she did shine a light in my eyes and make me take a pill. Then I got carried across the street in the carrier cage and set down to look out a window in a dusty, dim place. My humans were talking for a long time with three other people, the designer, project manager and the construction manager of Catalyst Consulting. They talked a lot about the inside of the building, about what had been knocked down and why, and what still needed to be done. I remember Richelle was glad to hear there was no evidence of asbestos but I did not understand everything and got distracted. Outside there were people walking by sometimes, so that was more interesting. Plus, I had a short nap. My humans then came to put the lead on me and let me out. I got to walk around and explore everywhere. I loved that! There were so many doors and corridors and small dusty spaces. I would have done a better job without the lead and harness, but I did my best.

It seems to me there is still a lot more to do. It is big and cold and hard. I have heard the plans to make the cat play area full of climbing furniture (I love climbing!) and warm, cushiony napping places. There will also be a private place for eating and another separately private place for our litter boxes. Cat grass and Catnip will be available and the humans will have lots of toys and brushes to entertain us with. The best thing, though is that humans will come in and play for us for a whole hour at a time. It is going to be fun to meet so many new people. I can hardly wait to tell all my cousins who will come to live in the café. There will be so many chances to meet their perfect human! I won’t live there, of course, but I plan to get Richelle and Ken to bring me often so I can play with everyone too. Plans aside, I will try to go back to inspect the site as often as I can to report on the progress of the construction. The dreams are becoming reality.”

As you can see, she is quite enthusiastic and I believe she can be a good reporter if she can learn to focus consistently. She is still young (a teen ager!) and learning many things. I will train her the best I can when I have time. In the meantime, everyone go to the crowdfunding page at
