Greetings Humans,
I have been so happy this week since Ken has been here to see me. He is complaining about the hot, humid weather. I always say, you humans move around too much. Of course, you will suffer in the heat when you try to do stuff! Well, there seems to be a lot for Ken and Richelle to do.
Ken had to work hard arranging the shipment of goods for the retail section of the café. He is a good shopper and has a talent for finding bargains, so I am sure that the customers in the café will enjoy the fun and useful things he has selected. There may be some things that no one has ever imported from Japan to New Zealand before. It could be interesting just to see the cultural differences, but most importantly, everything is about or for cats, so how could it not be interesting?
Richelle had an exciting Monday morning when she got a chance to be interviewed live on the radio by Polly and Grant on More FM. She loves chatting, so considered it fun. Being the centre of attention is kitten’s play for us cats so I am proud to see that my training of Richelle has had this benefit: that she can deal with public speaking gracefully.
The budget for the construction needed to change the Petone Gun Shop into Neko Ngeru Cat Adoption Café has finally been revealed. It looks like it will cost $185,000 for the fit out. This does not even include things like laundry tubs and refrigerators, not to mention our cat furniture. My servants have been carefully taught that cats are worth any cost, so they do not flinch too much at spending their savings on this.
I keep telling them to launch their crowdfunding campaign already, but they want to wait until their video and page are as perfect as can be. I think they are still unsure about asking for money. I tell them they need to remember it is not for them, it is for us cats. The café cats will have a more comfortable and fun life when they have better climbing furniture and toys. The homeless cats of Wellington will have a life full of caring and cuddles when they are adopted into loving homes through Neko Ngeru’s efforts. The humans will feel like they have helped make the café even better than it would have been without them as well as getting their rewards. Everybody wins! Watch this space for the crowdfunding appeal. An email about it will be coming soon.
You can help me tell them this message by going to visit them at the Petone Winter Market this Saturday at the Baptist Church on Buick St in Petone (right by the fountain) between 10:30 and 3:00. The theme of this market is Venetian Carnival so they will be wearing the cat masks that Richelle painted. The first few kids can get their own blank cat mask that they can decorate themselves. They need encouragement, so please stop by and say, “Hi!” and tell them what you think of Neko Ngeru Cat Adoption Café.
We are also selling the Entertainment Book to help support the rescue groups we work with. They are offering free delivery until the 31st of August, so now is a good time. It could be a nice Father’s Day gift.
