Greetings Humans. Lately, I’ve been treated for UTI and bladder issues by the kind veterinarians and my good human servants, Hiroaki and Rie. So, if I tend to ramble, we can just attribute it to that, all right? Though, I have been a bit uncomfortable, I have still been able to hear what is happening with my long-time servants, Ken and Richelle in New Zealand. I will always care about them since they served me for so long.
Firstly, they were passed over again by a landlord in favour of another business in their offer to lease a former office on Jackson St in Petone. They do not hold hard feelings but understand that the others did not have to make as many changes to the premises so would be able to move in and start paying rent sooner. They just had to pick themselves up and start over: looking for places, contacting agents and viewing properties. Now, there are two or three potential sites in Petone and Lower Hutt that could be just the right place for the Cat Adoption Café. I was always teaching them to stay hopeful and I am glad to see they are applying the lessons well.
Ken and Richelle are keeping active with their Cat Lovers’ Meetup Group as well. They’ve scheduled two events for July and are planning a third. On July 1st, they will host an event in their home making cat toys from re-purposed household items. They understand that for us cats everything is a potential toy, which is why we enjoy rearranging our humans’ environments and experimenting with the variety of objects you bring home. I feel so proud when I see them making use of the knowledge I passed on to them. On July 23rd, they are coordinating an event with Outpawed to help them raise funds so they can rescue more abandoned, stray and community cats. Richelle especially loves quiz nights and she really enjoyed being on a winning team with Vikki and Ken at the last one in Petone, so of course, she will get her competitive brain into gear for the next one at the Co-Op Kitchen and Bar in Whitby. There is also a fund raiser for three special cats who need a lot of veterinary care, Possum, Poppet and Dusty, planned for July 7th. This one will be origami lessons in making cat shapes by Mila. So, stay tuned to the Cat Lovers’ Meetup page.
Even though, they do not have a location for their café yet, my former servants are still able to sell the fun, useful and interesting cat related products they have imported from Japan. On-line shopping through their website is something they are still learning to do, but they are getting better with practice. They have also had a stall in the Hutt Valley River Market and are going to be at the inaugural Petone Winter Markets July 8th, August 19th, and September 16th at the Petone Baptist Church Hall from 10:30 to 3pm. I can personally attest that cat products from Japan are of a very high quality and definitely of a superior cuteness.
Well, that’s all the news that’s fit to tell. I will bring you more in two weeks if I live that long.
Thanks for the update on Ken and Richelle’s efforts to find a location for their cat adoption cafe.
You should take part in a contest for one of the best sites on the net.
I am going to recommend this website!
Thanks very much. Our web designer is Maribel of Creatia (http://creativa.co.nz/) She deserves most of the credit for anything good about our website.
