Crystal

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black & White
DOB: November 2017
Gender: Female
Personality: friendly, smoothie, playful
Size: 4kg

My Story:

I am called Crystal. I was rescued by WCK from the Martinborough square. I was hanging around a shop. I think I had people when I was young, but it is hard to remember. Now, I still like humans and will ask for attention but some of my bad experiences make me move around nervously. After I was rescued, I got to know some sheep, kids and other farm animals so if you have any of these, I could probably cope with them okay.

 Things I like:

Lots of places to climb, tearing up cardboard boxes, being petted on my own terms.

Capuchin

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby (spotted)
DOB: November 2017
Gender: Female
Personality: friendly, smoothie, playful
Size: 4kg

My Story:

I, Capuchin, was rescued by Wairarapa Community Kitties (WCK) from a colony along with Monkey and Tamarin. I think I am older than they are, but it is hard to tell. Because where I come from no one keeps track. I am much more reserved and will wait until I know the situation is safe before I will come out to play and cuddle. Once I get to know you, I am very affectionate. Dogs, sheep, chickens, kids and, of course, pigs are okay.

 Things I like:

Watching from a safe distance, patient people who pet me gently.

Tamarin

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby (spotted)
DOB: November 2017
Gender: Female
Personality: friendly, smoothie, playful
Size: 3.2kg

My Story:

Heya! I’m Tamarin—the one with no white on my chest. I was rescued by WCK from a colony behind a piggery around Greytown. We’ve been there for 16 years. Is it any wonder we all look sort-of alike? I don’t know how I am related to Monkey and Capuchin, but you can just say we are cousins. You can call me brave or forward or keep your opinion to yourself. It won’t stop me from coming to get your play and cuddles.

 Things I like:

Playing and petting, but some time I am going to explore the rest of this café—see if I don’t escape!

Monkey

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby (spotted)
DOB: November 2017
Gender: Female
Personality: friendly, smoothie, playful
Size: 3.2kg

My Story:

Hi there! I got the name Monkey by the rescuer at WCK because I was the first to climb right out of the cage and I also have a nice long nose. I am just as friendly as cousin Tamarin but not as brave. We love to play together but I will let her take the lead when she wants to.

 Things I like:

Playing and petting, climbing and jumping. Just like Tamarin and Capuchin, I love dogs, sheep, chickens and kids.

Olive

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby/ginger/white
DOB: June 2018
Gender: Female
Personality: Timid, Smoochie
Size: 2.7kg

My Story:

I, Olive, was rescued with my brothers by Dump Cats. They tried to save my mother too but could not find her in time. We do not know what happened to her. The dump is a very dangerous place for cats. Our first foster family did their best, but we were still very scared when we came to live at the Okada house. I was quicker than my brothers to realize that we were going to be okay. Soon, I will come out to play with you.

 Things I like:

playing footie with a puff ball, petting, and running around with my brother.

Spot

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black & White
DOB: 16/02/2018
Gender: Male
Personality: Outgoing and playful
Size: 2.7kg

My Story:

I, Spot, was rescued by FeralNation. I am independent but love to sleep on laps. It is okay to pick me up if you ask my permission. Human food is fun to steal and delicious, but I know I am not supposed to try it. I can be patient with little children, but am frightened of loud noises.

 Things I like:

Cuddling and playing with you and my fellow café cats especially Harry and Sydney.
