Sabine

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Calico
DOB: 2013
Gender: Female
Personality:  A bit timid, cuddly
Size: 3.0kg

My Story:

Hi, I’m Abby. I’m a shy girl until I get to know you. Then I love to cuddle a lot. I was surrendered to Neko Ngeru because my human has to go care for a sick family member in the UK. I believe I will find another human to care for me as much as he did. I was rescued in Auckland seven years ago. I was so lucky! I might hide at first, but I will be very loving when I know I can trust you. By the way, I dribble a bit when I am really happy. Hope you don’t mind.

Things I like:

cuddling, hiding under things

Billy (Billy left the cafe for his dental treatment)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby
DOB: May 2020
Gender: Male
Personality: playful
Size: 3.0kg

My Story:

Hello, I’m called Billy. I was rescued by KittyCat Rehoming Wairarapa and lived with lots of other cats and a big dog before I came to the café. I liked to play with them but not so much with the people. I didn’t eat much either.  The vet thought that I was allergic to the other cats’ food, so I got some special mince and powder. I didn’t like that. Neko Ngeru tried chicken mush and I love it! The people want me to get over my allergy so I can eat Royal Canin like the other cats here, but I am not sure I want to stop eating chicken mush.

Pepper (Pepper left for her trial!)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Gery (part British Short Hair)
DOB: 15/02/2014
Gender: Female
Personality:
Size: 5.0kg

My Story:

Hello, my name is Pepper. I have had an adventurous life so far, but I have always had good humans to care for me. When I was about two, I got hit by a car. It broke my jaw and took away my sight in one eye. But I recovered so well that I decided I needed another adventure. After a bit of wandering, the SPCA returned me to my people. Now I prefer to stay near home. I love my people, but they are leaving New Zealand and I don’t want to go. They got me a place in the café so I can find the best possible humans to take care of all my needs. I want a quiet place with no other cats, lots of sunshine and fresh air and plenty of human attention, not to mention good food.

Things I like:

being near people I like, a string toy

Basil (Basil is waiting for his trial!)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Tabby
DOB: January 2020
Gender: Male
Personality:
Size: 4.0kg

My Story:

I was rescued by a feeder in Naenae who previously rescued Tiny (Neko Ngeru graduate #69). At first, I was so scared, I bit and scratched a foster when she tried to move me out of a puddle of my own pee. Then they took me to a vet. That’s when they stopped calling me Daisy and started calling me Basil. I went to a different human’s place, but I still had my crate and my carrier, so I was good. Also, they put a hammock for me and covered the crate, so I felt more relaxed. They came to sit with me every day. Nothing bad happened, so I got curious about them. They played with me and that was fun. Petting felt nice. I think I am ready to meet more humans and get more petting from them.

Things I like:

chicken not tuna, my hammock chin scritches, and the catnip kicker.

Semyon (Semyon is waiting for his trial!)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: White/Tabby
DOB: February 2020
Gender: Male
Personality:
Size

My Story:

Hello, my name is Semyon. Originally Patches but my sponsor gave me this name. I am fairly sensitive and new things scare me a lot. But my brother looks out for me. He helped me trust the nice lady who rescued us. I needed to learn to trust people on my own though. Now I do. I love chin scritches. When you hit just the right spot, it makes me roll around. My brother is really important to me and I hope we find a home together. We like other cats, but dogs and small children make me freak out. I am ready to give you a lot of love if you are patient with me.

Rhys (Rhysand)

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Colour: Black
DOB: February 2020
Gender: Male
Personality:
Size: 4.0kg

My Story:

HI! I’m Rhys. Originally I was Blackie but my sponsor gave me this name. I first met humans when I was three months old. My brother and I were hungry, and this nice lady let us eat with her other cats. After about a month, we began to trust her and enjoy petting. I am more curious than my brother and will go out to investigate things to make sure it is safe for him. Whatever makes him happy makes me happy too. I hope that we will be able to live together in our new home. We haven’t met dogs or small children yet, so it’s better if we don’t have to deal with them. We are shy at first but will love you a lot once we trust you.
